More spring league follies

Saw our local rec league was short a ref so I signed up for a rare (f0r me) mixed U10 game tonight.

Midway through the third quarter a gal steps up to the line to shoot two and dad yells, "Remember, just like Rick Barry"..... Me. Not sure how many others in the gym know what's going on, but, I know what's coming.

She gets in position bends her knees for the famous underhand foul shot and tosses it. Ball doesn't get two feet off the floor.....straight out of bounds under the basket. She throws her hands up to her face embarrassed.

Shot two, and she is darn sure not going to let that happen again. She bends her knees and gives the ball a mighty heave....right over the backboard.

I'm sure she'll get better as the season progresses......or maybe not.
