Quick Quesetion

Guys, I would say I feel dumb for not knowing this, but I really have no clue, so therefore, I do not feel dumb asking .

I am signing up for my first ever officials BB camp. And I am needing to know what this means: 'Levels officiated (circle) C JV V.

C=?
JV=Junior Varsity
V=Varsity

From left to right, I am pretty sure 'C' stands for 7-8th grade? I don't see how C would stand for college, but be on the left side of JV?

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

The "C" stands for "Circus". It's a synonym for Mens Wreck League.

BTW - what's a "quesetion"? Is that like a "secretion"?

Might be some kind of Grammar school or Middle school classification. Then again this looks like a very local thing, but who knows. Maybe you need to contact the people and ask what that means.

After further review and looking at the clinicians and the draw to the camp, this must mean college. Then again, that is not a good way to give information for your camp in my opinion. Most camp brochures spell out the levels and not use acronyms.

Peace

Yes. I meant secretion of a substance of your liking.

I recall reading in some thread somewhere that "C" level is Freshman. (As in Varsity = A, JV=B, Frosh=C).

Why they don't just say Freshman or similar, I don't know. (Maybe players other than Frosh are also allowed to play that level.)

Around here "C" games are just this, freshman games. The two terms ("C" and "freshman") are used interchangeably.

Way out here in the West, C teams mean freshman and any others not good enough to make JV. Quite often at the smaller schools you will have a sophomore or two on the C squad.

Around here, prep schools call such teams "thirds". I guess if parents pay the big bucks to send their child to a prep school, then the school is going to find a team for the child to play on if they wish to play that sport.

Awesome, thanks.

On another note, I only did a couple of freshman games, along with a couple of 10th grade JV-B teams. I did one JV-A team game though! Rest of my games were 7th-8th. Not sure I should attend this camp, but then again, how will I ever learn if I don't.
