Spend an extra couple of $$$ and go to camps in SoCal. It will be well worth it.

Any in particular that are better than others? And is there a central place to find 'em or is it Google time?

Really depends on what you are looking for. The Grand Canyon Camp is a D-I try-out camp for the Big Sky conference and is in the Phoenix area. It's pretty high pressure as it is for try-out rather than teaching, but if that's what you are looking for...it sells out pretty quickly, so jump on it right away if interested.

I'm not there yet, but that's good info for me as that's the eventual goal. Is there a way to tell if camps are try-out camps or teaching camps? I am willing to travel...

The website has a legend that tells you what type of camp each one is.
