For the WFU/KY game. Interesting, no Hightower.

I would imagine those from the first round that worked the second round.

Okay, since the 2nd round games and officials are listed, It didn't occur to me that someone would go back to the 1st round and highlight those guys. Silly me.

I'm anal that way.

Just making it easier to reference. You can see right away what games the 2nd round officials worked in the 1st round.

Wanted to let you know that I learned something out of your extra work.
I noticed two things from your highlighting.
1. At least one official from each 1st round game is scheduled to work a 2nd round game.
2. At least one official from each 1st round game does NOT work a 2nd round game. --> In no case were all three members of a 1st round crew scheduled to also work in the 2nd round.

You can work one game and still work the following weekend. I do not think you have to work a first and a second round to advance.

Peace

Correct. But I do believe those who will be considered for working in the Sweet 16/Elite Eight are identified prior to the 1st round.

I have a mentor who has worked the NCAA-W's tournament the last 4-5 years and she says when they get their opening weekend assignments there is some kind of code/indicator in the notification that tells them whether or not they have a chance to move on.

That might be on the Women's side for sure. I am not sure that applies to the Men's side. The only reason I say that is because there is an official on this list that I know personally (we live in the same town) and he has worked the first round several years and they do not get called or a letter until the weekend is over. It seems like there is no other indication that they go further. But I will ask and find out that is for sure.

Peace

Wow - it's really a good thing these two quotes weren't originally in the same post!

Interesting website. I'm sure many of you know about it, but it's new to me and maybe others: College Basketball Referees - StatSheet.com
