How would you respond?

You are new lead bench-side. Coach yells to your partner, who just made a questionable call, "Hey *insert name*, you are killing me!"

How would you respond/not respond as the closest official?

I do not. I let my partner take care of it, then I will support him there after.

1. Tell the coach to not yell across the court.
2. Keep officiating.
3. Give the coach a T.

Really these are only real options. I guess it depends on the severity of the actions or is this a repeat offense.

Peace

Nothing, unless he said, "Hey **insert partner's name**, you are F#$#%#G killing me!". Then, I'd whack him if my partner didn't already beat me to the punch.

Similar situation in my red neck game, I was lead bench side transitioning to trail as the action changed directions and the coach said, "how can that guy make that call? He's killing us. Can you fire him?".

Oh geez

Yelling across the court is one of my pet peeves and I politely ask the coaches (before the game) to let us rotate in front of them during the course of the game and ask a question instead of yelling.

Since that coach is reporting a felony in progress, you must blow your whistle to stop play and tell that coach to get his cell phone and call the police immediately. Do it every time he says that.

My Usual Reply ...

When the coach yells, "Gimme a break", I always inquire, "Arm, leg, or neck?". I always hope that they will answer, "Neck", but they never do.
