Pi. Exactly.

x/(pi/2) = 1/(2*pi)
x=(pi/2)*(1/2*pi) = 1/4 revolutions

Your worst mechanic?

Probably all of them :o

Wellmer Fri Jan 29, 2010 02:43pm

fullor30, Chadron is more north central or northwest. Southeast would be more like Kearney, North Platte or McCook.

Worst mechanic? In my earlier days, calling a jump ball with my index fingers pointing towards the sky. Counting three seconds for a three second lane count, which by the way got quickly corrected when I went to my first camp. Those are just a couple that come to mind.

I do that sometimes...I wonder if anyone's caught me ever.

Every official (and half the coaches) in the building knows exactly what you're doing. :D I've done it. Working on a patient whistle helps with this. :)

Guy who charged me $400 to replace my alternator and all I needed was a battery.

Like getting faked out on a 3 that turns out to be a pass?

I usually do 2 revolutions. 3 if I feel I need to emphasize that I'm calling a travel rather than something else, like if there was a would-be shooting foul immediately after the walk.

"Traffic signals in New York are just rough guidelines" (David Letterman)

I have a tough time with a three point try, shooter is fouled, and the ball goes in. I never seem to be able to go through al the signals smoothly.

Also, even though it's been around for a few years, I still feel awkward with the illegal screen (team control, block) signal.

I still struggle with the team control signal. It just feels awkward.

Does flipping the coach off count as a "worst mechanic"? :D

The team control signal has become much easier for me. I usually point instead of use the closed fist thing. You have to verbalize the TC foul well or no one will know what is going on sometimes.

The player control foul mechanic is probably the toughest for me. I don't have any trouble calling them, but putting your hand behind your head is just awkward to me, and I've watched too many college games where they simply point the other direction, so I end up doing that sometimes.

I actually had a friend call this in a women's college game. I wasn't there to see it but I'm sure he got it good from the coaches.

Hi, My Name is Freddy, and I'm an . . .

My worst mechanic is giving the "Kicked Ball" signal.
Only signal not given with the hands. And I never seem to be in stride correctly to not look like I'm about to trip over my own two feet. :o
Maybe if I wouldn't be trying to raise my foot as high as a Ray Guy punt I'd be more comfortable with it. :D
