Any chance on picking up any Rec games before hand?

Most of the rec leagues around here won't start until after the first of the year, and I do have calls in to the various park districts...I was actually going to work on that later today.

How would I get in on some scrimmages? Call schools?

I would call your assigner to see if he can help you out or call the schools/coaches directly and tell them you'd like to work a scrimmage.
