I agree with your agreement.

Now can someone please show me in the rules where it says to award the first FT (not the bonus attempt) for common fouls 7, 8, and 9 by a team in a half?

Its there by implication: "if first free throw is successful."

I agree it could probably be worded better.

Bonus only happens if the first throw is made. I wonder what we should call the first throw? Could it be your earned shot? Since the second is given as a bonus.

How about a Free Throw....which may followed by a Bonus Free Throw...or possibly an Automatic Bonus Free Throw.

You mean like the next time that I'm working a game and the 7th, 8th, or 9th team foul of the half is a common foul causing the coach to plead for the 1-and-1, but I tell him that there is no rule in the book which instructs me to award a FT.

10.6.1 Situation B:

The bonus is in effect...........A2 charges into B1.



Ruling:..............B1 is then awarded a one-and-one.

Did research for the cite. Memory tells me that based on board history, Nevada should be back to say this doesn't count for some reason.
