Check out the web site Philadelphia Referee: Sports Officials Rules,News,Resources. It contains much good excellent information. Those who live in that area will respond also. You can find past discussions use the search function of this site. Good luck!!

Pickings are slim for the Northern Midwest (IA, MN, ND,NE, SD). There are only four camps (see below) on the phillyref camp list at Philadelphia Basketball Referee - 2008/2009 Officials U.S. Camps . You might try touching base with one or more of the listed contacts and maybe they can give you further leads. You can also check out the list of official associations (2009 updates coming) at Philadelphia Basketball Referee - Officials Groups for contacts and leads.

If you or anyone else identifies additional camps, do share so that they can be added to the list.

agreed

Not too much to choose from in these parts...

I was at Colin's camp last summer, learned a lot...great bang for your buck...

What are you looking for in a camp? I might be able to steer you in the right direction...

I suggest the UofM-Duluth (Officiating Links) camp in July. I am a younger official, just starting to do varsity and attending this camp for the past 2 years is what prepared me for the jump (3 person mechanics, confidence, crisp mechanics, the little things, etc). They have tons of great clinicians (Ken Mauer and Pat Fraher of the NBA, along with tons of DI, II and III folks) who really spend time with you out on the court and seem to care about your improvement. Cost is only like $160 for the entire weekend or $95 for one session. I know officials from ND, SD, all over MN and Wisc come to this camp. Check it out, they emphasize having fun too so don't miss the social hours Fri and Sat night.

I did my first full year of Varsity last year and loved every second of being on the court. I am a 19 year old official looking to get better as well as maybe meet some people that could enhance my oppurtunities as an official whether its more games, or eventually breaking into the college scene.

Both Colin's camp in Sioux Falls and the camp in Minnesota would be good for you.

I can promise you that you'll be one of the youngest officials at the camp in Sioux Falls. I'm 27, most of the 40-50 officials were in their mid-20's to early 30's...

Regardless, you'll learn a lot-couple folks from Fargo at that camp last summer...

Don't think there is one. Last Email I had for him is

[email protected]

I've been in Kansas for 2 years, so I don't know if the email still works. I went to Colin's camp for 7 years. Started doing Jr. Hi after first year and ended up doing DII men. Great camp.
