Working on some material to present to league administrators and would like some information on what surrounding states are getting paid, we're in Kansas. Information on Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Iowa in any/all sports would be appreciated. Please include as much information as you can as far as different levels, mileage, how many per crew, etc. Thanks in advance.

These are fees as per the 2005 season. The prices given are all for fastpitch.

College (D2 and lower): $65.00 a game plus $25.00 mileage fee. DH = $100.00
High School: $35.00 a game plus .30 a mile mileage.
Tournaments (avg): $32.00 for pool (one man) and $27.00 for bracket (two man) with time limits not to exceed 75 minutes.
Rec leagues (avg): $25.00 a game.

I'm in Maryland but what the heck, here is what we get paid.

HS Varsity - 2 man $52 for the plate, $48 for the field
HS Junior Varsity - $60 x 1 man
NSA Tournaments (fastpitch) - $32/game X 2 man
Local Babe Ruth Rec Ball - $40 x 2 man
NO mileage fees involved at any level.

Why do we keep doing this - every few month comparing fees paid from state to state? It is not valid data due to differing economic areas.

For example; cost of living is higher on the East Coast, and wages and salaries are higher; thus you would expect higher officiating fees then in the Midwest. And fees in the Midwest are generally higher than in the South.

Culture also plays a role. Softball doesn't seem to be too important in Texas and fees generally are low. But football in KING down there and football officials receive outrageous fees. Percent of gate can mean hundreds of dollars from a single game. In Michigan football fees are higher than softball, but only as a ratio of the greater amount of time spent.

Whatever, in my part of this State I have received a low of $20/game for ASA State Tournament to high of $40 for high school varsity. SP league play around here is $17-$20.

Because the search feature on this website, that was only "going to be disabled for a short time," still, these many years later is not available for our use.

At least, that is my guess...
