Looks like I'm alone on this one, but I like the current Fed rule of entering on the rim-hit. In the instances where I've worked games where players enter on release, it seems there is a lot more severe contact and jockeying prior to the rebound. Maybe it's just the leagues I've worked (wreck boys & men's).
I don't think the Fed is interested in changing to be consistent with NCAA rules. I think they generally lean toward safety and limitations on rough play. Thus, I doubt it will change anytime soon.

Or the backboard-hit. Don't forget this. I hear lots of officials tell players, "Wait 'till it hits the rim". It can hit the backboard first and then hit the rim, be a legal shot and players are allowed to enter when it hits the backboard first. Telling them they have to wait until the ball hits the rim before they can enter the lane is erroneous information.

One And One, Two Shots, Three Shots, etc. ...
I prefer to say, "One shot", or whatever the number of free throws will be, and then bounce the ball.

Ditto. I learned this on this forum this year. I used to say "Let it hit", but now I just use the "One shot" or "Two shots" or "One and one".

When a kid shoots an air ball and then has another shot coming, when I throw it back to him I say, "Boy, that sucked". Usually they laugh and say, "Yeah".
I don't do that too much in 3rd grade games, however.

I did quite a few 5th grade games this year where it was clear that players hadn't ever played before. In those games, I say, "Wait till it hits", at least in the second half. In the first half I say, "Okay kids, don't step in until the ball hits something, got it? Stay in your spots until it's legal" Coaches actually appreciate this.

This fan also showed up to the opener one year to razz that same official and called to him before the tip to reveal his 'foot locker shirt'. The official smiled at him, unzipped his jacket and revealed that the crew was going with grey that night. Everyone had a good chuckle over that.

Generally, anything beyond "One", "One and one", "Two", or "Three" is bothersome to me.
