So I went to the shirt garters and they are great. I don't attach them to my socks though, even though I wear OTCs - legs are too long. Instead, I attach the double ends to the back of my shirt (two on the right half, two on the left) and then loop the single end around my leg and attach to the front. Works perfect; enough "give" to allow movement but never so much as to have either front or back come anywhere close to looking untucked.
