Collision with the Coach

I was hoping to get some advise on how you would handle this situation.

Team A has rebounded a missed shot by team B. Team A moves quickly toward the front court, and I am the new trail (two man mechanics), running along the table side. I am looking over my shoulder when I crash into the coach. She is at least two steps on the court when this occurs, and I fall down, but I am not injured, so what violation do I have here in your opinion? I issued a Technical foul for standing on the court. I thought a Flagrant Technical would be too harsh because it was early in the first quarter, so she had not been observed standing in the playing area.
Do you think I made the correct call?

Thank you for your help!

Good call.

Flagrant technical is too much even if it wasn't the first quarter.

Handled perfectly IMO, you don't want to go flagrant here - the fact that you collided with the coach doesn't make it any more/less flagrant to me...just a bit more painful

Out of the box & caused you to hit the deck = a good T

But the more important questions are:
1. As T why are you looking over your shoulder?
2. Was coach a cutie?
3. Did you take her down with you?

Are you Tim Higgins?

I run into a coach on the court, it's a T. In football, it's a 15 yard flag. I know there are few absolutes, but this is pretty close to one.

I could see this happening to the lead more frequently, though. My biggest pet peeve is the coach who won't give me a few inches on the sideline when I go from C to C tableside. He knows I'm there and I have to work around him cause I want to be a step off the court and he's legally in his box off the court.

Of course there's the occasional coach who walks in front of you when you're a step off the court that's even more annoying...

Let me ask you something. Is the step off the court at slot only when the ball is right in front of you?

I only ask because I've been getting mixed responses when evaluated at the slot. Some like us on the court unless the ball comes right in front of you, others don't care as long as you get the angle to make a CC.

Depending on how cute she is, you may want to do this a few more times.

Sounds like a good call to me.
I'm curious though, why you were looking over your shoulder as trail...

Sorry, I did want to say I was the LEAD, but her beauty still has me tongue tied!
