Bingo. Most can manage to stay within a 14 foot box. Few can stay seated the whole game.

One thing I liked about the boys games in Iowa when I was there was the seatbelt. No coaching box was allowed. Oddly enough, they were quieter as a rule. It may have just been my perception, though; but it seemed as if the coaching box gave them the impression that they had more access to the officials.

I have noticed that in college ball the coach seems to be clear down on the base line alot. Is this a different rule for college. I also think the coaches push the envelope and see what they can get away with. Take care of business.

The coaches box goes all the way to the end line in college. Some courts have a coaches box line that extends from the end line.

So am I to understand that you don't watch the bench personnel other than the HC and enforce the rules about when they are required to be seated because you have better things to do?

I was answering your question to Rich, or more precisely speculating on what his answer would be. So it would be inaccurate to read anything into my answer about what I do, or don't do, in my games.

Ah, I now understand that your previous post was a posited response and not a statement.

Even if it is a "statement", it's likely true that coaches who are supposed to be seated require more watching than other bench personnel who are supposed to be seated -- that is, coaches are more likley to violate the seatbelt rule than others are.
