Couldn't disagree more. The defender had legal guarding position, was moving laterally/obliquely and not toward the player, and took the contact in the torso. It's the definition of a PC foul - at least according to NFHS rules...

Play 3 could be a block. I watched the feet of the B player and he obtains LGP and moves to maintain that position. However, it does appears that he sticks out his chest and abdomen prior to the contact. I can see this going either way.

And that's why it makes a good "what's the call?" video!

Play 3 Player Control - Defensive player has obtained a legal guarding position and moves in the direction the player is going. Contact is shoulder to chest, therefore, by definition Player control

Play 4 Player control
Play 5 Player control
Play 6 Player control all for the same reason

Play 7&8 There appears to be little to no contact, either no call and tell to get up or block for the acting job and talk to them about the fake or amplification of the contact. It will stop the acting.

I only watched 5 and 6.
I've got a no-call on 5.

6 isn't even close; charge all the way. B1 has LGP and is moving sideways.

I submitted too soon. I should add that "beating the player to the spot" is irrelevant when the defender has LGP, as long as he's not moving towards the opponent when contact is made.

First glance, I've got:

3. Block
5. I've got PC (sweet mechanic, too)
6. PC

7) No call

The last time I witnessed this much flopping, Morganna was running on the field to kiss Pete Rose.

Doesn't the fact that he took the contact on the torso prove that he beat him to the spot?

3. Block
6. Charge

3 I may have nothing as it was a flop, or a block.

6 a block.

These guys are great floppers.

edit: Upon further review, 6 is a charge.

No - what if I slide under an airborne shooter and take contact on the torso?

You're absolutely right in the situation of an airborne shooter. But Play 6 was not an airborne player.

Just sounded too much like an absolute statement.

No argument from me on 6.
