Chuck
Jackson 5? Sure, why not. Quincy Jones, some Diz, early
Miles, maybe some Bird...now we're talkin'!

Do you all want to fall asleep.

Jazz? Jazz? I want to smoke a duuuby if I listen to Jazz before a game. (sorry about the drug reference, could not resist :0 )

Man you guys are old (not far behind many of you ) These games are to get the crowd and the players hype, not have a latta and smoke a square.

For the record, I love Rap or Techno before the game. It is upbeat. It is faster paced, and you can dance to it. And many times I can sing along (not very loud, I cannot sing ).

But then again, I come from a different generation I suppose.

Jazz?

Peace

Doobie? What's that? Maybe Mick knows...

(BTW, I would rather take an ice pick to the back of my
head than listen to rap or techno, but hey...whatever...)

Had an interesting girls varsity game this past season where the warmup music was country & western...first time for that. According to one of the players, the team captains choose the music. I usually listen to C&W so I liked it. I like music where I can understand the words, no matter how corny they are.

So now we come to the real question. Which would you rather do: eat paint with no hot sauce or take an ice pick to the back of your head?

Rut, I agree on the no jazz thing, but some good '60s and '70s Motown (NO DISCO!)? Come on, that's good music. Not my absolute favorite, I admit; but it's good and a whole lot better than rap.

If you want music that pumps you up but you can still sing (quietly) to, I vote for Collective Soul.

Chuck

Had a game this past season where they played - in order - the Jackson 5's "ABC Song", the Commodores "Brick House", and then AC/DC's "Back in Black"... couldn't figure out the pattern, but enjoyed all 3... the really surprising thing was that most of the players were singing along as they warmed up...
