Thanks for the help with my tournament planning over the past week.

Here's an update.

I went from having 10 teams and having one team quit.

So I was down to 9.

Then one of the teams offered to send in a second team.... back to 10.

Today two other teams backed out. So now I'm down to eight and this will make it easy to figure out.

This is a lot of work.

One thing I've learned is that next time I have a tournament, I have to ask for the enrollement fee up-front.

Thanks for the help guys!

Ren

DISCLAIMER

Ren is talking about his local tourney, not the NCAA tourney!

To avoid problems, restrict your future tourneys to eight teams. First eight with their entry fees are in. Others go on waiting list in case someone drops out. Eight is a perfect number for scheduling. Save yourself a lot of grief.

double elim

In speaking with the coaches... consensus was that they didn`t care who they played... just that they wanted to play.

I`ve seeded the teams and teams will either go into a Championship or Consolation division depending on their first game.

Most teams will play 4 games and everyone is happy.

I`m glad I was assigning my own officials to these games as I`ve had to redo the schedule 3 times in the past 4 days. Hopefully, this will be the end of it.

I`ll keep my fingers crossed.

update number 2.

Just to let all of you know that the tourney was held yesterday and today and went off without a hitch.

My team won the Championship 36-18. #1 and #2 teams from regular season ended up in the Championship.

We had many excellent games as well as some excellent officiating.

Congrats!!

Congratulations on your win and tourney!. It sounds like your coaching and coordinating a league all in the same season. Has this caused you any conflicts?
