Exactly. As soon as JR saw them, he stuttered, "Humma, humma, humma"...

And that's where the colloquialism <i>"hummer"</i> came from.

It's true, it's true......

You don't learn this stuff in the NFHS, Eofficials or NASO websites, folks.

I seem to recall learning this stuff in my middle school locker room.

Tigers aren't quite good 'nuff to beat the Twins. Lost 3 one-run games in a row in Detroit. I wonder why Detroit uses a .217 designated hitter.

You get what you pay for. What do you expect for $14 mil a year?

For that kinda money, they pretty much have to play him. And he's all yours next year for the same salary too.:D

He's old and oft injured, Mick. And he just might have passed his "best by" date.

More the merrier

Leyland and Carlos Guillen , the Tigers' lone All-Star, will fly on a private plane chartered by owner Mike Ilitch to New York for the All-Star Game.
They will be accompanied by Twins All-Stars Joe Nathan , Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau , so they'll have a hassle-free trip to the event.
"We might go drop Morneau off somewhere," Leyland joked.
Leyland had the flight arranged by Ilitch before the All-Star roster was announced.
Guillen and the Twins players were added to the flight, after Leyland talked to Ilitch and Twins manager Rod Gardenhire .
"I just asked (Gardenhire and Ilitch) if (the Twins players) could ride along," Leyland said.

I am pretty sure the Giants had to enter into a contact with the City of San Francisco to retain at least one over paid, under performing player named "Barry" on their payroll.
