Had a fight between two opponents in an AAU game this weekend. Handled the fight and ensuing technicals and ejections OK but was unsure of proper signal. Gave a double foul signal followed by a technical foul signal.

I think you would just "T" the players up and toss them. No need for the double foul signal. Others will correct me if I am wrong.

I had one fight this year. And in my career. My preliminary signal was to escort one of the players to the bench. I found the other one and told him to go sit down. Then I went to the table and signaled that I had a double foul (signal). 32 white T, 41 Blue T. Verbally indicate that both players are ejected. Use the jump ball signal to indicate we will have an AP pocession at mid court.

I would think you would give the double foul signal, then the T signal for each foul.

Maybe it is an NCAA thing I missed (my apologizes ahead of time if it is), but please don't immitate that ref in the UCLA game a few weeks ago and give an "ejection" signal. Basketball doesn't have one.

I would avoid this situation, as it may lead coaches (and players and/or timers/scorers?) to confusion as to how many team fouls are received. I'd say just give the double T (even if a double foul brewed the whole thing up) and give each team one team foul (for a flagrant T).

Plus, it's easier

here is my cents worth (which isn't very much)... If there are players "fighting", depending on your definition of that, but if they are inflicting physical harm, they are gone! And an ejection form is filled out to the wiaa. I would call the act a flagerant, then you don't have to worry about anything associated with giving another technical. oh, I have seen the ejection signal many times... all it is is point at the player, and spoint to the door, and add some sound effects in. i've seen 3 ejections and only one was handled the right way, good luck

Doug
