In my mind it is not normally a question worth responding to but I wanted to hear what other people think.

I often hear this quip from ignorant coaches and fans and I often wish I could blow my whistle the moment I hear it and reply something like this: "have you ever heard of the cylinder principle... are you sure you want me stop your players fast break lay up for that tap on the arm?...defenders are permitted to defend, they are not required to move out of the way when your child is driving to the basket...and best of all: because I didn't call it a foul!
