2 OT stalling

I had an interesting OT on Friday. VBB. Team A gets the tip. They stand with the ball in the front court the entire 1st OT. They miss a fall away 3 pointer at the buzzer. So we go into 2 OT. Has anybody ever had this happen? I've heard of stalling. But 3 mins 45 secs on literally standing. The second OT Team B got the tip and scored. So we played ball the 2nd OT.

I hope you were well rested for the 2nd OT.

NO WAY!! The last thing I want to do is run up and down the court in OT.

Agreed. Overtimes bring to mind an exciting end to a well-played game. Stalling for almost 4 minutes is lame.

Yes - had this happen this year - almost exactly the same scenario. They stall entire 1st OT and then attempt a shot at the buzzer which doesn't go. We play 2nd OT and they stall for 30 seconds or so and then decide to play "normal".

Agree that stalling is "lame", but unfortunately not against the rules.

Many years ago I had a girls game where the team inbounded the ball to begin the 3rd quarter and just stood there until there was 1 minute on the clock. The defense was in a zone. Once the defense realized the situation there started doing jumping jacks and other silly stuff. I was the lead in that situation. While we are waiting for the clock to read 1 minute I am thinking... "Did the player start a dribble?", "Did the player establish a pivot foot?". I am glad that the 1st thing the player did, at the 1 minute mark, was pass the ball. 7 minutes of standing around. Beat that!
