You can do what you want, but I'm not letting a 17 year old kid talk to me any kind of way. I guess that right there would be one of my absolutes.

I'm in the camp that says I don't want smartazh, mouthy kids talking chit to me...

Something I like to say to the players is something like..."Hey, let your coach complain to me about the calls...you'll keep yourself and your team outta trouble...just focus on playing ball, ok?"

Agreed, or as Rut mentioned in another thread, ask the kid to repeat what he said...........giving a chance to back off his comment, if not, I'm whistling.

You know I don't have a problem with how other handle these types of situation. The problem for ME personally is it's inconsistent across the officiating spectrum. That's the problem. In the OP it was stated that it was just loud enough for the two of them to hear no one else. IMO, it's unsporting and needs to be addressed appropriately.

You need to reread BOTH of my posts.

I didn't advocate sticking the kid. I said I would warn the coach that he needed to shut the kid up. if he doesn't, he'd better hope the kid doesn't pop off again.

My comment was regard to Kelvin's suggestion that we consider whether the kid is right or not. Sorry, that's not his job, it's mine. And I may listen to the coach if he has a concern but I'm not listening to a 17 y/o tell me I made a weak call.
