With the captains, keep it short! They don't need or want a clinic. Obviously there are lots of styles and personal preferences out there, but I keep it simple: 1) designate the speaking captains, 2) ask if there are any questions, and lately, because it's been a problem too many times, 3) remind them to check shirts during breaks in the action so we don't have to bug them about tucking them in (it actually seems to be helping, though maybe it's just my imagination). Short and sweet.
