Slide And Get Up

In a scrimmage yesterday, a player, in my partner's primary coverage area, slid on the floor several feet to get a loose ball, obtained possession on the floor, left the ball on the floor, got up, and picked up the ball. My partner called a travel violation. At first I mentally questioned my partner, but then I went back to what I've been taught about sliding on the floor, and what you can legally do once you stop sliding: sit up if you're on your back, pass, shoot, start a dribble, or call time out. Since this act wasn't on my legal list, I decided that my partner had made a good call. Is my legal list complete? Are both of us correct? Citations please, both for and against.

OK - what's wrong with this list?

Add case book play 4.44.5SitB to your list.

It's good that your partner knew that one.

Travelling or not?

I have a related situation I'd like to run by you guys.

A1, while dribbling up court on fast break, gets bumped by A2 and she starts to stumble to the floor. She is able to maintain a dribble as she falls, but she lands on the ball with her right hand, pinning it to the floor. It appeared to us that this happened simutaneously to her body landing on the floor. We did not call a travelling violation. Was this correct?

If the ball was pinned prior to her body hitting the floor, then we'd have a travel...correct?

Pinning the ball to the floor is not considered controling the ball.
So, I do not have any violation. A1 can stand up (without the ball) and try to continue the interruped dribble or pick up the ball to end the dribble. She can actually do the same activities while on the ground.

Would you call a foul on a player for bumping into a teammate?
