I try to limit myself to about a 35 games schedule. Plus 3-5 scrimmages. I will do about 25 AAU games in the spring. If I was younger and singler, I would probably do more. It pays for my golf. It gives me some exercise. I enjoy the activity. I've met a lot of great folks. And by the time I get home, the dog has been walked.

It was for Chuck's benefit. A little chatroom humor.

I currently have 28 college dates. I don't have my high school schedule yet, but I'll probably limit that to about 15 games. I donate a few freebies for local team fundraisers, and I do about 15 summer league (high school age) games each year. Plus there's camp games, but I don't think we're counting those, right?

Wasn't that a Pixar movie, with the mouse who liked to cook? My daughter loved that one.

I work a lot during football so now, when basketball comes around, I don't work as much as I did years ago. I think I got close to 100 games my second year in hoops, but I only worked maybe 50 each the last 2 years. This year, probably more like 35 (in hoops after about 40 -- so far -- in football) is what I guess I'll end up with.

Next year, it will be more like 30-35 in football and about 35 in hoops. I like the sports, but I don't want to be gone 5 nights a week. 2 is better: thursdays and fridays in football; tuesdays and fridays in hoops.

For me it is something to do on those cold, dark winter nights. I value my summers too much and only work basketball.

Around here most games start at 4PM so I'm home with the wife and kids by 6:30. It takes its' toll though.

When HS starts threy are all 6:00 starts.

I could go to the YMCA and run laps or ref basketball and get paid. Either way I get my exercise. - I'm 30 yrs. old though and can invision slowing down as the years go by.

Does your wife know about those, Scrappy?

And aren't you a bit old to be dating college-aged women? (Or men - not that there's anything wrong with it!)

Sounds like a certain former Big 12 men's basketball coach. Wait, those weren't dates, they were parties.

26 year gap. What was the meaning of your response?

Adam Mon Nov 12, 2007 05:26pm

I'll answer. It was a reference to a troll who walked these halls previously with a handle very similar (dare I say identical) to yours.

My son, whose son is almost two, says that no matter how much of an pessimist you are, the diaper is never half empty. ;)

O.K. makes sense. I am new to the officiating scene and found this website looking for rules interpretations etc. Was my first post. Enjoy the site and hopefully can get responses to some questions as they come up. Thanks
