Kudos for Purchase Officials

Since I lost 40 pounds over the summer, I needed to buy new ref shirts and pants. Someone mentioned a month or two ago that they liked the Purchase Officials site, so I gave them a try. I was a loyal Honigs customer, but the prices at PO are way better. Not only are the prices better, but the shipping was really fast, too. I placed my order in the morning and within a couple hours I had an email stating my order had shipped.

The Smitty shirts they have ($22 each or two for $33 - sweet deal) are great. They are the most comfortable ref shirt I've ever worn. Soft and lightweight. Great fit.

And they have a deal for a shirt (Smitty) and a pair of pleated pants (says it's Smitty pants but they sent me Sansabelts - even better) for $54 going on right now.

As long as they have prices like these and quick shipping, they have me as a customer.

This summer I bought 2 pairs of Sansabelt pants from them for $29 each.

I agree that this is a very good company. But when it comes to basketball gear, I think officials should always shop around. You can often get the very same shirt, pants and even shoes at the same places. Then it comes down to price and availability.

I think Honigs, Gerry Davis and Purchase Officials are all quality companies. Sometimes one has a better product than the other.

Peace

Have you guys ever had any problems with Honig's gear? I have never had any problems personally. They are very reliable and good people to talk to over the phone and in person. The only reason I ask is because I guy I work with worked them over the coals this past weekend when I talked to him saying their products were junk and he could not believe MLB used them as a supplier for the umpires.

Personally, I buy my pants at the local Lurch & Blimpy (Big & Tall) shop.

I probably have bought from all three mail order companies over the years and can't recall any real problems. Once, I think, an item was back ordered for about a week, but that can happen with any company.

I have never had a problem with Honig's - they have always been very nice, had great products, and quick shipments. Their prices don't compare with Purchase Officials at the moment. I do love the Smitty shirt (from PO) way more than the Honig's shirt as far as comfort goes. And the price is awesome right now - 2 shirts for $33.
