Question

Last night, Varsity boys, A1, on a fastbreak layup, is fouled hard by B1. My co-official calls an intentional on B1. While his back is turned reporting the foul, A1 shoves B1. I T and toss him. We shot the intentional and swapped ends and shot the T and gave the ball to team B at halfcourt--easy enough. My question is: What if B1 had shoved back and there would have been 2 T's? ie. an intentional followed by offsetting technicals. Would you shoot the intentional and then give the ball to whoever had the arrow? Or, would you give the ball back to whoever shot the intentional?

If you had a double T in the situation that you described, they would offset with no shots being taken and the arrow would be used to determine who gets the ball. Let A1's sub shoot the intentional foul... then use the arrow to administer the resumption of play.

Since penalties are enforced in the order in which they occur, I would have given A1 two free throws for the intentional and since the offsetting T's happened after the intentional I would have gone to the arrow.Sound right?

I agree. Although the shoves did not literally occur at the same time, I would consider them simultaneous T's, shoot the intentional, then go with the arrow.

Lee is correct on this one. There would have tobe a sub shoot the two free trows and then you would go to the arrow

Assuming that you would be calling the 'T's as simultaneous, no shots and go to the arrow. If you eject the player or players, sub shoots for the previously fouled shooter, and then go to the arrow for the inbounds. No shots for the offsetting 'T's
