It might be a great experience. I just think you should know what officials that have worked in that conference or live in that area have told me. It is just better to know all the angles before making a decision to spend that kind of money.

I have seen other races of officials on games in the SWAC when I have run into one of those games on TV. You just have to be aware that they are likely looking for African-Americans is likely their priority, just like other conferences might put geography and job over talent alone. I was also had conversations the last two years with officials that worked in those conferences and who knows how it might work. I would not let that alone discourage you, just be aware this is the reality of the conference.
