I do not think Colorado people are the same as Chi-town people. I think that would be a safe guess.

Peace

Having spent the last week in Colorado Springs, and having spent a week in Chi-town last month, I definitely agree with your statement. Question is, which is the better?:D

One doesn't have to be better.
It's okay if they are merely different.

Hypothetically speaking.

Player - "Mr Official, Sir."

Me - "Yes, ..."

Player - "May I make a request?"

Me - "Certainly"

Player - "I respectfully request you take your Head outta Your Azz and call a better game."

Me - " Thank You for being polite, tweet, Tehnical foul #24. Hows that for a start?"

Player - "Thank You, Sir. May I have some more?"

:D :D :D

It is not rare in my games. You must not be well respected in your area, either that or they are just plain scare to say anything to you for fear you might do the extreme. Not only do the high school players do this to me, but the wreck league adult players treat me like this as well. I always, even if it's a HS player, fan, assistant coach, respond back to this type of jester in kind. Another thing, everyone is sir or mam in my games. I think it's very important that we be people first and approachable. I also think this is where we separate the good from the great officials.

A wise man once said, in order to get respect, you have to give respect.

1) Does that apply in your college games also?

2)Yup, from one jester to another......:D

Why in the world do you feel a need to respond to every single one of his posts?

Me: Maybe if you played a better game I might call a better game. Beep! Technical foul. Anything else you want to get off your chest?

Player: I felt you missed that call!

Me: I thought the defender played good defense on that one. We don't penalize good defense.

Player: Well call it on both ends!

Me: Will do!

Why in the world do you ask? Do you feel that you have the right to tell anyone on this forum what to post or not post, or when to post?

Just wondering where you're coming from.......

It just confuses me, to be honest. You express a complete disdain for anything and everything that spews forth from the mouth of OS, and yet you perpetually encourage him by constantly responding to his drivel.

Do you not see that you're only encouraging him?

I apologize if that comes across as harsh. I don't mean it to be.

Good point.

Unfortunately, I don't think that encouraging or discouraging him is relevant. He's gonna do what he's gotta do, no matter what.

I do have a short boiling point when it comes to some of his nonsense. The good thing is that it's a cold boiling point.:)

So, um, does that mean you're operating in a vaccum?
