Geeze, what would you two do if you both weren't in first place in your respective divisions?:D

Well, unlike Chuck, I'd be real quiet. ;)

Split in Cleveland, now onto New York
 • DET are 6-20 in the last 26 meetings in New York.
 • DET are 12-30 in the last 42 meetings.

BTW, Shelley Duncan?

Looked like Mariano and Dice-K were equally bad yesterday.

Mets scored 5 in the first, 5 in the ninth and nothing in between. First time any team's done that in 50 years.

Which brings up today's news in the wonderful world of beisbol......

MLB is thinking of sending both Seattle and the BoSox to Tokyo to open the 2008 AL season. Great idea (as long as they don't bring 'em back).

Maybe they can bring back something to eat or a nice painted toy for Chuck?

Sox beat up on Tampa Bay. They now lead the AL in shut outs. Yankees lost, dropping a game to the Sox. So that's good.

I saw a great sign at the Yankee game, tho. It had the Yankee logo in a car mirror and said, "Warning, Boston fans, objects may be closer than they appear." Kind of clever.

And how about this guy from Arizona, Brandon Webb? Friday night, he pitched his third straight shut-out. He's thrown 42 consecutive scoreless innings. He's 18 innings away from breaking Orel Hershiser's record. When a reporter informed of this, Webb responded, "Just two more shutouts? Oh, I should have that no problem. It's in the back pocket," while rolling his eyes.
