3-Person manual?

Hi everyone. I am going to be making a push to start working 3-person games (which in my neck of the woods are men's junior college and all university). I've worked only one 3-person game in my five-year career and don't have much of a clue where to start. By any chance is there a manual kicking around out there that explains the basics of 3-person?

The first question is what level of ball are you working? College and NF 3 Person mechanics can be drastically different. I am sure other levels like FIBA and state organizations have their own mechanics to what is acceptable.

Peace

For all-intensive purposes, it's NCAA rules.

Thanks for the replies, all! I will purchase one of those books for sure!

Hi Canuck,

I am a fellow Canuck who officiates at the college level. We have been using CCA Mechanics Manual which are the three person mechanics at the NCAA level for many years. There are rumours that CABO may switch to FIBA three person mechanics for next year. I hope not but it is a possibility. If you are curious, the FIBA three person mechanics manual is available online.

Here's a webpage "slideshow" put out by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and Washington Officials Association that covers "3-Person" mechanics....philosophy, etc. It's fairly good and complete.

Hope this helps!

I don't mean to be annoying, but the saying is, "for all intents and purposes."

True, but "for all-intensive purposes" does have a certain malapropriate charm, dontchathink?
