Discuss the Seeds here!

This thread is for people who have nothing better to do than debate the seeding for this year's NCAA tournament. Also, we'll accept discussion about teams that were included or were left out in this thread.

The #1 seeds are Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Kansas.

MIDWEST

Obviously, winning your conference tourney carried a lot of weight.

Surprised at Florida being the #1 overall seed.

The ESPN bunch were debating Drexel and ODU.

I really like caraway seeds, they have a very complex aroma and taste. Sesame seeds are nice toasted on a hot pan. Poppy seeds I can live without. Pumpkin seeds are tasty roasted with lots of salt.

WEST

Tubby Smith has a job for a few more weeks.

Va Tech seeded below Maryland?

VCU and Duke = an interesting matchup.

Illnois sneaks in. Gotta be the last team in.

Pitt and UCLA down the road.

I think that Arkansas has to have been the last team in.

EAST

#1 seed!!!! http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/woot.gif

Tough draw in Eastern Ky.

Arkansas, there's a surprise. Maybe they were last.

Texas and Carolina down the road.

BC and Georgetown would renew an old Big East rivalry.

How do you know that already? CBS is still announcing the regions and hasn't mentioned Drexel yet with only the South region to come.

ESPN analysts were thinking Purdue was in while IL was out, but both made it. And IL gets WV first, so it might be one and done.

Dan - I prefer sesame. Great on breadsticks. :p

SOUTH

Stanford slides in.

UT-VA would be a good matchup.

Memphis and Louisville down the road.

Nevadaref Sun Mar 11, 2007 05:37pm

Yep, Drexel got left out, Tony. :(

Nevadaref Sun Mar 11, 2007 05:40pm

No Missouri State, Air Force, or West Virginia.

Only six at-large bids for the mid-major conferences. The lowest in the past five years.

M&M Guy Sun Mar 11, 2007 05:41pm

No Syracuse. Kinda surprising.

tmp44 Sun Mar 11, 2007 05:41pm

Stanford over both Drexel and Syracuse??? No way....maybe the committee was concerned about "East Coast Bias?"

You mean VT as in Virginia Tech. :p

I\'m surprised that Maryland got a 4-seed. That seems pretty high. They didn\'t finish real strong, did they?
