Longest game?

Just got through a marathon - Varsity Boys, Regional playoff game.

Four overtimes.

Buzzer beater 3-point shots in the 2nd and 3rd OT by the visiting team. Home squad eventually wins by six.

My feet hurt but what a game!

Can anyone top that?

I can but barely.

3 years ago, Sectional semifinals (2nd round game), I was a last minute replacement. Scheduled guy couldn;t get away from work. I alwys keep my bag in my truck. You never know.

Anyway, 4 OTs, home team hit buzzer beater 3 pointers at the end of regulation, 1st, and 3rd OT. When they hit the 3 at the end of the 3rd OT, the visiting coach just looked at me and shook his head. He couldn't believe it. The home teams starters were all fouled out by one. It was subs that were keeping them in the game. Visitors finally won.

I was wiped out. But it was worth it. The guy I replaced still won't let me live it down. He can't believe he turned in that game!

Our girls had a 5 OT game 2 years ago in a regional semifinal game. Craziest thing I've ever seen. Both teams gave away the away several times. Us in regulation and then it flip flopped in 3 of the 5 OT's until we finally got enough of a lead that we couldn't screw it up.

I believe that the national record is seven extra periods according to the NFHS record book.
