Just a small question
I have been surfing the internet for the answer to this question and finally came here because I couldn't find the answer. I attended the University of Maryland's womens basketball last night against North Carolina and after the game we wondered out loud where the refs came from. Does the ACC have a team that they send or were the refs local NCAA refs? And how does the assigning process work? I am sure with all you experts here someone wil be able to answer...thanks so much.

It was a very good crew the game. You are assigned as an individual not teams. The officials could be from anywhere in the United States, that is up to the assingner and the conference.
