Oh no. We are all human, therefore we will all screw up sooner or later. I am just saying that double whistles should always be discussed in the pre-game meeting so that it is fresh on the crews mind. There is no way to completely avoid it.

I'm going to have to call bull$hit on this. If you call enough this WILL happen to you. And, if you have called a lot, it probably already has happened. We used to have this same conversation on this board with another guy who stated that it never happened to him and he couldn't understand why it happened at all. i don't see him chiming in as much about this topic, anymore. It happens on all levels of play and all levels of officials. You see it on TV almost every night somewhere.

Anyway, I saw two officials one night holding off any prelims, looking at each other trying to decide on who was going to take the call, finally they both nodded and both took the call. With a different signal, of course.

Write it down, it is going to happen in one of your games one night and you will be a better official for it.

Good post. I was going to write something to the same extent yesterday but didn't get around to it. I haven't had a blarge yet, but I've been an official long enough to know not to say "never".

I just spoke to a JUCO assigner/Final four official on Tuesday and we talked about this. He said he constantly has to think about who he is working with and slow down. He went on to say it is about ego and calling all over the court. It is to a point where he expects to have another whistle even if the play is clearly in his area.
