One of Magic's best highlights, they used to show over and over. Haven't seen it much lately. That famous spin move took him 3 steps to do. The end result was a great play but, he travel...

The sad part is, young kids watch this on tv and don't understand why it is a violation when they reproduce the same move. Earlier this year I heard one from a coach that I liked. (how often does that happen?) Boys 8th grade point guard, good, smooth player, a pleasure to watch, BUT he made the above-mentioned pivot 1-2-3 move down the lane a couple of times. Easy call. The second time his coach yelled at him, "Hey! (shakes his head, points at me) He ain't gonna go for that!"

If the NBA officiating is such a joke, how come everytime I go to a Bulls game and sit close I rarely hear one word said to the officials. Then I go to a high school varsity girls game and the crowd is screaming at the officials from the first decision made after the jump ball

Cause the statistics have shown that NBA officials get over 90% of their plays right night in and night out, whereas I'm sure, on a good night, HS officials get 85% of their plays right, myself included.

Their is not a "stars" treatment in the NBA and those who believe it are just stupid, but it can be better explained from a guy who is now in the NBA himself so I refer you to this thread:

Your scientific basis for judging the quality of referees is the reaction of the crowd? You take the collective reaction of by far the least rules-educated group of people in the building as your barometer? Do you also turn to Britanny Spears for marriage advice or Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling for accounting advice?

That describes the crowd only if Billy Packer isn't in the gym.

I have in fact left a message on Brittany's cell phone for marriage advice. I hacked it off the list when Paris lost her phone. I am still waiting for a return call.
