I gave 4 Technical Fouls in just one game

Have to endorse GoodwillRef's thought. If you were the official on the court and you did not call the T, what justification would you give when subsequently asked about it? This is textbook officiating.

Visiting team has to finish the ENTIRE 4th quarter with a student-teacher intern as their "acting coach." The Head Coach, Assistant Coach, the Player, and about 20 parents are ALL waiting outside for us after the game. Let's just say I didn't stop to visit. My partner did though. I learned a lot about how NOT to handle games that night.

Private, "Christian" schools! Gotta love 'em! Oh yeah, and those "mistakes" that we ALL make . . . they happen. It is about how well you adjust and move on that will make the difference in the rest of your night. Have fun, and welcome to the board.

Cannot beleive the administration does not take care of these kinds of situations so they never happen again. Way out of hand!

I posted this several months ago but it's worth repeating. I had a partner in a rec game give 6 T's to a player...don't recall the details other than after the first two he refused to leave the court. After #6 his teammates finally made him leave. However, the best (i.e., the most memorable) part was bouncing the ball to the shooter and saying "12 shots".

At some point (probably around #3 or #4), this turns into 'making a travesty of the game' for me and I'm heading home.

Agreed. That's on the coach. After #3, I'm asking the coach if he's getting his player out of there of if we're calling it a night.

Oh you're absolutely right. But this was a men's rec league (i.e., no real coaches) and there was another game after that one so there was no leaving.

But the real reason was that my partner was stubborn as hell and refused to let this guy get the best of him. My partner Ray (excellent official, BTW) was a big black guy (6'5"/250 or so) with a larger-than-life personality, plus he had the officiating contract at this particular gym for all their leagues. He didn't want the inmates to think they could run the asylum by acting like jacka$$es.

The unintentional comedy factor for this scene was just through the roof...this scrawny little douchebag trying to face big Ray down was hysterical. It was all I could do to keep a straight face. Then the added bonus of getting to say "12 shots"...One of the highlights of my rec league career.

BTW, not that it's relevant, but one of Ray's brothers played a couple years for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Based on what I read, if all of your information is correct, and he hung on the rim excessively, yes, a T should have been called on the dumb kid!

BTW, the part I lined out is completely irrelevant.
