My second pair of OC Patent Leathers are starting to fall apart, so I'm going to pick up a pair of Spot-Bilt Patents over the holidays.

I wear the Spot-Bilts for football, and love them, so I can only assume they'll be just as good for basketball.

The ones I'm using right now are from Official Footwear. I really like them so far. they're every bit as comfortable as the Nike Shox or Reebok patent ones I've used in the past. They come with a 7mm removable insole, which is great because I use custom orthotics & they slide right in.

I just bought a brand new pair of a brand new line, and they're great! I had New Balance before but couldn't get them wide enough, so I ended up getting them too long. I already have problems with clumsiness, and too-big shoes didn't help at all! These have the right kind of arch support, so I haven't added insoles. Now I'm fleet of foot, and light of spirit (well, at least on the basketball floor).

The new brand, which you should all watch for, is called

RefShoe

Great name, eh? They come in all sizes in regular width and all sizes in wides, either "matte" or patent leather.

If you're interested, PM me and I"ll see if I can hook you up.

OK you wear the Refs, but how many extra pairs do you have in your bags?:D Two? Three?

Now that I'm through harassing Tanner :p I wear Nike Monarchs. They aren't the prettest shoe in the world but they are really comfortable. The Monarch IIIs are supposed to be more comfortable than the IIs. I have both, but won't break out the IIIs until it's time to retire the IIs. If and when I do change, I'll go to New Balance 610s or higher.

I switch back and forth between Nike Air Max Solas and Adidas A3.

Was never much of a Nike fan, but I love this shoe.

I just got a pair of Adidas a3 microride leather. I love this shoe! With a history of foot problems (plantar fascitis) you have to go with what works for you.

Hmmmm, sounds like the sort of thing where your brother-in-law sells them out of the back of a van on East 42nd Street.

I've got a pair of New Balance 609's with Spenco inserts. They are very comfortable, shine up pretty well, and come in wide sizes. Best of all, they come in various colors. So I was able to go into Mervyns, try on some white 609's until I found the size I wanted, then order them in black from Honigs. :)

Well, he's not my brother-in-law, but he did sell them to me out of the back of his car. But hey, they're great! Who cares whether or not he's got a license?

I have two pairs of reffing shoes. My newer pair is the New Balance 381, although I found out recently that I can't wear them with ankle socks (they cut into my ankle and form a pretty nasty blister).

I also have a pair of all-black Nike Air sneakers. A few years old, but they still feel really good.

JRutledge Fri Dec 15, 2006 02:10am

I have two pair of the Reebok Patent Leather All-Stars (I love these shoes the most but they do not make them anymore. I do not wear them as often for this reason).

I have a pair of Patent Leather Spot-Bilts (I do really like these shoes).

I have a pair of Nike Overplay shoes (I have noticed some problems with my Achilles tendon when wearing these shoes. I do not feel they give enough support).

I also have a pair of Nike shoes in which I do not know the name of (They are OK but I do not like the over all look).

I have a pair of the newer Reebok Patent Leather (I do not like them at all. They do not give enough ankle support for my tastes).

I am looking for a non-Patent Leather shoe that I can wear more often or during college contests.

Peace
