From all I've ever heard, a wedding ring for an official is perfectly accepted. A bulky class ring or similar ring should be left in the locker room or at home (just my opinion). As far as the adults rec league, I'd make them take it off. Quite possible to get it caught, even briefly, on the basket ring or net. If the league itself insists a wedding band is OK, either convince them it is totally unwise and against accepted practice, or have them give you something in writing stating that they have heard your concerns but that they will still allow the bands.
