Default under Modified NBA Rules
Last weekend was my first foray into a local summer league played under modified NBA Rules (modifications being mostly with time outs, 8 team fouls per period is Penalty, and a very inconsistent running clock rule).
Our last game of the night had a team with just 5 players. Late in the third quarter, one of the players from this team dunks, and lands awkwardly and feels too injured to continue. NBA rules doesn't cover this explicitly, so we ended the game as a default to the other team. Since the winning team was ahead at the time, I figured I'd keep the score the same and report the stats. Does anybody have an experience with a default like this under NBA rules, and how it's handled, or would this be a league-specific issue? (I do like the NBA rule where a team down to 5 gets a T when someone commits a foul beyond the 6th, though ![]()
