at a high school boys game this weekend
player fouled, and injured, while shooting
2 shoots awarded
fouled, injured player taken out of the game
incoming sub shot the free throws
2 questions
1. is it always the case the sub shoots for the injured player?
2. is there an instance (not technical fouls) where the coach can choose who can shoot the free throws?

Sub always shoots for injured player. The coach can only pick who is shooting on a technical foul.

If the offended player is withdrawn because of injury or disqualification, and no substitute is available, any teammate may attempt the free throw(s).

Therefore, the coach could designate a shooter on a personal foul.
