Hey, he got free bandages, didn't he?

Some people are never satisfied.

Yeah, and he's probably one of them "elitist pricks" that I've read so much about too.....

A pretty good baseball season is winding down.
1. It seems that no one will win 100 games.
2. The Atlanta Braves will not be in the postseason for the first time since 1991.
3. The NL wildcard is truly wild. A three team tie between SD, LA, and Phi is possible. Would they then have two single-elimination playoff games? Chuck, help!
4. Ryan Howard still might hit 61 HRs.
5. I hope that Clemens isn't finished. He sure is fun to watch. He pitched the first MLB game that I ever attended!
6. I hope that Liriano isn't finished. He has barely begun.
7. Mets, Tigers, and Twins ... oh, my! Pleasant suprises and overachievers.
8. Red Sox, Braves, and Cubs ... oh, my! Major disappointments.
9. My Cy Young picks: Santana and Zambrano
10. My MVP picks: Santana and Ryan Howard (That's right, I chose a pitcher! He was that good and if he wins tomorrow and pitches again on Saturday or Sunday, he could still win 20. They may hold him back to set the rotation for the postseason though.)

Yo, M&M...

Great show on HBO tonight at 9:00pm, your time. Must-see television!!

It's called "Wait 'Til Next Year". It's about this MLB team that hasn't won a World Series in 98 years. Guess what team that would be?

The quote that I kinda liked was "The Chicago Cubs are definitive losers!"

If it's in the NY Times, it's true, it's true......

You are heartless, man. On the day that the other Chicago team is eliminated from postseason contention, and the Red Sox drop to third in the division, you gotta bust on the Cubbies? That's just cruel.

I expected gravestones with two colors of sox on them this morning.

You could at least congratulate DJ (TJ?) on a nifty Seattle win in extra innings last night. They score 3 in the ninth to tie it and then win it in the 10th. Ichiro got 5 hits and scored the winning run, Ibanez and Sexson each had 4 hits, and some Putz got the win. Pretty fun game!

To quote the great space explorer, Hans Solo: "Go ahead, laugh it up, fuzzball."

I wonder how the Yankees' triple-A team would fare in the AL East? In the Cubs' case, I believe around 70 starts were made by rookie pitchers this season. So just wait 'till next year when they're no longer rookies!

Er,...never mind.

Did I see the article was written by Jayson Blair?

Congratulations to Oakland. I said earlier that I thought Minnesota had worked so hard to make the playoffs that they might be outta gas. Sure looked that way in this series.

Go Tigers!

I dunno, Chuck.
Drawing the parameters of a "Thanks-for playing" free gift would probably be pretty tough.
