Coco Crisp much?

I'm with you on that one, too. I don't think I'd keep using "Coco". Although Coco Dumarot has a nice ring to it!!! :D

Is this MLB or a cereal commercial?

This is one of the things that I love about baseball. Every once in a while stuff happens that is literally once-in-a-lifetime.

You look at the final score, White Sox beat the Twins 9-7, and you say "So what?" Then you realize that Mark Buehrle gave up all 7 of those runs to the Twins in the first inning. And the manager left him in. And on top of that, Buehrle ends up going 6 innings total, with a little help from a triple play in that sixth inning, and gets credited with the win. And then you find out that the last time somebody gave up 7 runs in the first inning and got the win in the same game was back in 1900!!! (Jack Powell of the Cardinals; Sept. 29, 1900; maybe it was the last game of the season.)

I know you all already think I'm a strange person, but I just love stuff like that. I think it's pretty cool.

Don't worry, Chuck - I know you're not strange.

The Easter Bunny told me so. ;)

I'll tell you what facinates me - how the heck do they find those types of statistics? And, who sits around and looks through all those box scores to find such a thing?

But, that is one of the things that makes baseball pretty cool. I'll guarantee you though, that this probably would never happen in a National League game, because they would've pinch-hit for Buehrle to get some more offense in early.

NSA. I would tell you more but then I would have to kill you. Very hush-hush and all that.

Yo M......wassup with the rumor that the Cubbies are negotiating to bring Sammy back? I know that they need a bat big-time...so that does make a little sense.

Hey, I just saw that exact shoe a few weeks ago - it's at a special exhibit at the Int'l Spy Museum in Washington, DC.

I tried getting the number for the shoe, but it's unlisted. So, does that keep me alive a little while longer?

There is no such thing as an unlisted number to the NSA.

Speaking of rumors...latest is Soriano's gonna make a return appearance in NY.

Oh yeah, and Chuck..."so what".

Actually, in this case there is - the shoe is a Qwest model.

Nope......read somewhere that he's in Miami working out to get in shape, and the Cubs have already held preliminary meetings with his agent. Supposed to be a base contract offer with a bunch of incentives. It makes sense kinda.......the Cubs do need a bat badly.

Sigh...

But right now they need 8 or 9 bats.

Actually, it does kinda make sense, M. If the Cubs can get anything at all out of Sosa, they're ahead of the game. If not, they just say bye-bye and it doesn't really cost them much. And they don't have to give up anybody out of their farm system to get him either.

And he's been able to train so far without worrying about any steroid tests either. Means he can partake of some of those good old Dominican vitamins.....

ChuckElias Tue May 16, 2006 09:15am

Sox take a commanding 1 game lead in the division. :)

Tigers still hanging in there, Mick. I can't wait to get out there in a couple months.

Nomar's been on fire lately. He had the game winning RBI last night for the Dodgers. That division just looks horrible again this year.
