Well, you can't blame poor ol' Manny for that. He wasn't there.

We'll see if there was a reason for that in the next few weeks.

A lot of ballplayers will play hurt.

Manny will only play happy.:D

And it's official - a very strong candidate for Manager of the Year gets fired.

I guess you don't tell the boss to shut up in public. Even if it was justified.

You mean the Cubs have not been in the World Series in any of our lifetimes? (Maybe JR's lifetime) That could not be true. :D

Peace

The Cubs have won a number of World Series - in JR's lifetime.

Of course, dirt was discovered sometime around JR's birth.

No! Of course not!

I meant that in the most positive connotation.

Fox

Ground ball off Robrtston's glove and Inge running from 3B grabs the ball
and in one motion, get the out at 1B.
Waiting, and wanting, for the replay..., I hear what Randy Johnson's itinerary is for the next three days or about FOX's fall lineup. ...Disappointed.

All summer I watched "Tiger baseball" where the emphasis was on both teams
and how to play the game. The announcers, ...."Who are those guys?"

Jeter rocks !

THere were more than a few like that. They had the headphones....and the cameras... on the managers while play was going on.

They're no worse than ESPN though.

HINT: Turn the tv sound off and turn on the Tiger's radio feed if you can get it. That will be a heckuva lot more enjoyable for you. I watch most games with the "mute" botton on.

Go Twins!

I've done that several times during the season - turn down the TV sound and listen to the radio. If you have XM (and this isn't trying to be a commercial), you can listen to the home-team radio call for every game. I had to listen to the Yankees broadcast last night with what's-his-name and what's-her-name, but at least it seemed a little more entertaining than the Fox announcers.

Go Whoever-Plays-The-Cardinals! ;)

What's her name is Suzyn Waldman, the first (and as far as I know the only?) MLB woman play by play announcer.

I wondered if that was the case.

She didn't seem to do a whole lot of talking, at least during the time I listened to the broadcast. Does she do more at other times? How is she regarded in the area?
