Hey there...
Speaking of video. I'm glad there is a video of this: I don't have it anymore, but it is a video of a high school game (I think) and there play is at the far end and you see a young girl running along the sideline (OOB) away from the play - probably to go to teh freshroom or something. Anyways, someone shoots and a defender gets the rebound and I think he outlet passes the ball to a teammate who just chucks the ball because the time was getting down to 0:00. Anyhoo, he totally misses the basket, but it dings the little kid right in the noggin, running OOB alogn the endline now. Anyone see this & laugh as much as I did??? ..Mike |

Haven't seen that one. But I have seen one of an NBA game where, at halftime warmups, a ball boy was getting rebounds for the Pistons, threw the ball out toward the sideline after a basket while the player was turning his back to him. The ball hit a fan behind the bench who was standing up and made him spill his beer all over then-Piston coach Chuck Daly.
And I wish I had a video on the game Dave and I did where the pass hit a defender in the back of the head, went up and hit the backboard, then dropped in. And while I'm wishing, I wish I had a video of a game where two weird things happened on free throws in the same game. On one shot, we had a wedgie. On another shot later in the game, the ball hit the bracket, bounced up in the air, came down on the bracket, bounced there about 10 times and came to rest on the bracket! I've never had a ball come to rest on the bracket before or since, either on a field goal try or a free throw try, and I've only had about 3 wedgies on free throws in 22 years, and I had both happen in the same game (different teams). |

Ripley's
I played in a game in highschool where at the end of half time, our 6'10" centre threw the ball from his own foul line.
Th eball hit the back of the hoop, bounced 10' in the air, slowly bounced about 4 or 5 times on the back of the hoop, and finally dropped through...hitting the opposing centre clean on the top of the head!

I have heard that claim before, actually I prefer a certain rather dark Irish stout.
I do find the fosters commercials to be some of the best. I don't know if you get them there, but the "how to speak Australian" bits are classic. |

I believe it was Noel Coward who said that England and America are two countries separated by a common language.
I wonder what he would have said about Australia and America - perhaps "two countries separated by their rules of football?" |
