Someone will always complain about how the game is called, but we should be erring on the side of safety, not continuity. It's better to hear someone yell "Let them play!" than to hear an ambulance siren.

I'd be curious to see how the number of concussions in D1 basketball has varied over the years, but past record keeping probably isn't that accurate. They probably used to just put some ice on the player's head and not even see a doctor.

I miss the finesse game, but ratings and attendance seem to indicate the majority feel otherwise.

I think the game has suffered by replacing shooting practice with weightlifting, but I guess that makes me a dinosaur.

What would they do if an official called every single foul that was made? Now, I am also talking about the preventive officiating fouls. As an official, we sometimes let fouls go that don't give a team an advantage, but why if we didn't?

They would start yelling about time management, game are too long, and coaches of course, your are going to call that? It's a no win situation as an official, always have been and will be.
