A1 is inbounding ball at half court. A2 is running from frontcourt toward backcourt. He gets the throw-in but doesn't catch it - he just controls it with his dribble. Dribbles once, maybe twice, but his momentum carries him into the backcourt. Violation?

As long as he clearly dribbled the ball while he was in the front court, then he had player control (4-12-1), and therefore team control (4-12-2) before going into the backcourt with the ball. In your situation, especially if there were two dribbles that were pretty clearly controlled acts, I think it has to be a violation. If however, it was close, I would be inclined to give A2 the benefit of the doubt.

"he just controls it with his dribble". I think you answered your own question. Team control = bc violation.
