As long as he clearly dribbled the ball while he was in the front court, then he had player control (4-12-1), and therefore team control (4-12-2) before going into the backcourt with the ball. In your situation, especially if there were two dribbles that were pretty clearly controlled acts, I think it has to be a violation. If however, it was close, I would be inclined to give A2 the benefit of the doubt.
