Tony,
It was probably from C.
I know it was table side, though, maybe....
Of course, I was nicely closed down on the shot ;)
mick

AT&T or MCI means that it sounded like a long distance call!
:)

Mark, I hope both calls were against the defense if you counted the baskets! :)

Juulie, if the ball is in tha basket and goes through, then let it go. Obviously you want a whistle if the ball doesn't go through the basket. But if the ball is going through the net uninterrupted, don't interrupt the game by making the call.

Good advice for you too, Mark.

Yes, they were both on the defense.

I agree that this call should usually be passed (because the points are awarded either way.) However, something I discussed a few seasons back was end of period/game, where the whistle causes the clock to stop and lets subs in. What would you do (defensive BI, but good anyways) if:
(a) Stopping the clock benefited the defense
(a)(i) The defense purposely BI'd to stop the clock
(b) Stopping the clock benefited the offense
(c) It benefited both teams

Oh man, you are thinking too much! :) Player touches the net
as the ball goes thru, let it go. You have enough to worry
about already.

I'm glad I asked this question because this weekend I needed it. I blew the call, but I learned something I would have missed if I hadn't been thinking about it. It was JV boys, too, if you can imagine. The shot went up, missed, and while it was still balancing on the rim a defender went up and tipped himself the rebound. I thought "Wait a minute... was that... " and then of course, the play was off down the court, and I could have called it back, but just brain-froze (NOT my only mistake all weekend!!) But I stashed that little picture away in my mind, and looked at it again on the next time out. It was definitely BI. So now I've learned something, which I can carry forward into my next "big" games which are tonight. Big means big for me, not that I'm so high up on the ladder.

Good advice...Thanks!!
