Maybe because it was Kobe, the star people pay to see, they decided to keep him in the game. Perhaps that's the reason for NOT ejecting him.

Or, maybe they jsut missed it. It happens.

The contact was made right at shoulder level then Miller's head snapped and he got hit in the chin. Either way i would eject him because it was as a retaliation blow.

After reading your post for a THIRD time, I finally get the picture. (Baseball Umpires are a little slow ) Thanks guys for your thoughts. Now, I will go back to where I belong (on the baseball section).

By the way, one of the things I admire most about basketball officals is how well they handle situations/confrontations. When I watch them on TV, especially the NBA, they always seem calm and under control when discussing calls with players and/or coaches. I think umpires need to learn more of that "verbal judo" stuff so that we can defuse some of the heated discussions we have with managers/players.
